Central Eurasian Studies Summer Institute (CESSI)
The Central Eurasian Studies Summer Institute (CESSI) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is still accepting applications on a rolling basis—both for the summer 2020 program and Title VIII fellowships! We offer intensive courses in elementary, intermediate, and advanced Kazakh, Tajik, Uyghur, and Uzbek.
We are very excited about the 22nd Pittsburgh Racial Justice Summit, a multi-cultural initiative of the Black & White Reunion.
The Opening Ceremony will take place on Friday evening, January 24th at Union Project, at 7:00pm. The doors open at 6:15pm for registration. Some students and faculty have organized a teach-in to teach about the political climate in India. The teach-in is on Friday, Jan 17 from 3 to 6 pm in 1500 Posvar Hall, University of Pittsburgh.
The teach-in will consist of short informational sessions, viewings, readings, and activities that will contextualize the most recent happenings in India. Participants can drop in or stay for the duration.
