The Current Iranian Political Situation: A Discussion of the Iranian Women’s Protests

Announced by the University of Pittsburgh:

CMES will hold a panel which aims to give a brief overview of events in Iran since the death of Mahsa Amini, including the widespread protests her untimely death has sparked. Prof. Anne Betteridge, CMES Director and Professor in MENAS, will serve as the moderator. Prof. Nayereh Tohidi, Professor Emerita of Gender and Women’s Studies, California State University, Northbridge, and Prof. Kamran Talattof, Director of Roshan GIDP and Professor of Persian and Iranian Studies in MENAS, will give 15 minute presentations about the current Iranian political situation. Then, the two speakers will field questions.
