During the Fifth Crusade, while in the midst of the horrors of war, a remarkable relationship developed between Saint Francis of Assisi and Sultan Malik Al-Kamil. This story, lost in history has been researched by Paul Moses, author of The Saint and the Sultan. The historical analysis offers insight into vilification of the enemy and reinforces the need for dialogue.
